Good evening Gator Families,
As we close the final newsletter of our first school year at Ella Banks Junior High, I find myself reflecting on everything that has been built together over these last ten months.
What began as a brand-new school with empty hallways, unfinished traditions, and countless unknowns quickly became something far greater than a building. It became a community.
A family. A place filled with pride, resilience, growth, laughter, learning, and unforgettable memories.
This year was never going to be perfect. Being the inaugural year meant we were creating systems, traditions, routines, and culture in real time. There were moments where we celebrated huge victories, moments where we learned hard lessons, and moments where we simply had to figure things out together.
Through all of it, your support, grace, trust, and partnership mattered more than you know.
Our students accomplished incredible things this year. From academics to athletics, fine arts to clubs, leadership opportunities to campus events, our Gators showed what it means to represent Banks with pride. More importantly, they helped establish the heart of who this campus will continue becoming for years to come.
To our parents, thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your children every single day.
Thank you for encouraging them, supporting our campus, communicating with us, volunteering, attending events, and standing beside us during Year One. Schools cannot thrive without strong partnerships between home and school, and we are grateful for the community that has formed around Banks Junior High.
As we head into summer, I hope each of you finds time to rest, recharge, travel, laugh, and spend meaningful time together as a family.
Students, you have earned it.
While Chapter One may be coming to a close, this is only the beginning for Ella Banks Junior High. The foundation has been built, and the future ahead for this campus is incredibly bright.
Thank you for helping make Year One unforgettable.
With all my LOVE,
Dr. Dickey💚🐊
